Senstability, the concept of introducing the floor to the body, and projecting movement from within In this workshop the building blocks of human movement by natural design are introduced. This concept forms the foundation to apply and practice the basic Pilates Mat work organized and perceived from a deeper level of control.

An updated and new concept of Core(st)Ability. Followed by an improved work order based on a changed and evolved teaching concept. Reinforced by an effective tactile cueing technique. This is the above learned concept placed into a core repertoire protocol on the Cadillac.
The Staple of Meaningful Movement This presentation explains the Core principles of an essential foundation in Pilates and any contemporary approach to movement education. Many misunderstandings have led to a reductionism of the Core approach to deep abdominal work. This workshop aims to flush out the misinterpretations by introducing a solid understanding of the Core components and how to introduce these principles to the client with the most effective cueing techniques. Based on and evolved according to the latest biomechanical model and research. OBJECTIVES: - To gain a deeper understanding of essential Core Principles - To introduce an effective approach to establish “Core Ability” in every client starting a program - Establishing Core Unity by introducing effective cueing technique improving proprioception and interoception.
The Sling System Approach
An in-depth experience of Core Cueing Principles. Marie-Jose will take you through the essential principles of Pilates using anatomy, imagery and fundamental exercises to help you deepen your Pilates practice. She will also introduce you to the Sling System used as a Core Support System on the Trapeze Table for helping you to understand and apply the core principles as they move from the mat onto the equipment. The guided support of the Sling System allows for deeper work and better proprioceptive feedback while reinforcing optimal alignment for the client. In addition, the Sling System provides safe support and modifications for clients with special needs, as in cases of Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis, as well as the elderly population. Includes new adaptation to support centering via the vestibular system applied with scoliosis.

Biographie von Marie-José Blom:
As Creator & President of SmartSpineTM Wellness System, Marie-José Blom has more than twenty years of master teacher training to help get your back on track.
Marie-José specializes in deep core strengthening, pelvic work, and work for the spine and is widely known for her work in Conditioning Techniques for dance and dance injuries. In 1991, she created the Advances in Pilates Technique, an internationally acclaimed professional teacher’s training program, which she conducts and directs in Japan. As a former faculty member at California’s Loyola Marymount University, where she taught anatomy/kinesiology and physiology for the Department of Dance, she received the 2006 Spotlight Award for excellence in teaching. Marie-Jose is also the founder and director of Long Beach Dance Conditioning in Long Beach, CA.
Marie-José created and directs the Advances in Pilates Technique, currently known as Pilates Leadership Concepts (PLC). This acclaimed program was the very first program in an official format and is currently directed by Studio 3 for California.
Marie-José has established programs at various facilities internationally and is in great demand for lectures and presentations, both locally and internationally for institutes, physical therapists, and movement educators. Since 2007, Marie-Jose’s PLC program and specialty workshops have gained popularity in Tokyo, Japan. The desire and ambition in Japan for higher education led to a comprehensive program that brings Marie-José to Tokyo four to five times a year, which makes Japan her second home.
Marie-José specializes and dedicates her 30 years of experience to mentor Pilates Professionals to a unique level of expertise, which reaches beyond instruction to movement education. She is a regular presenter for Balanced Body University, Pilates On Tour, and Pilates Method Alliance. In 2007, she founded the SmartSpineTM Wellness System and Company. In 2014, she was published in the Fascia research book titled “Fascia— The Tensional Network of the Human Body” by Robert Schleip, Thomas W. Findley, Leon Chaitow and Peter A. Huijing. Her expertise has made many teachers excel into a recession-proof career.
